Shocking developments as I make my first art posts in roughly half a year! I've been suffering from a mixture of being extremely busy coupled with being extremely lazy. I've also been spending a lot of time trying to understand and process everything I learned from the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con so that I could use it to become, hopefully, a better artist. I think I've been mildly successful but there's still a ton of work to do.

The five pieces are essentially comic book covers done in pencil. I'm not an inker. I think I could do it, but I've put absolutely zero time into trying to develop that skill set. That's something I'm going to be correcting in the future I imagine. As such, I welcome anyone who'd like to give it a whirl to try their hand at inking and coloring these. I'd absolutely love to see what they become in the hands of other people. I admit that a lot of the allure of doing work in the comics industry for me is just having professionals color my work so I can see what happens to it. Those guys have mad skillz and I'd be thrilled to see what they do with my pencils. I think I need to get a lot better before that happens though. Something about my own work just urks me at the moment, but I'm not sure about what I need to fix... I'm proud of what I'm putting out but it just feels off. Sometimes I look back at my thumbnail sketches and I'm much happier with those for some reason. Confuses me.

Anyhow, I hope you guys enjoy these. The Valisa picture represents a promise made months ago finally realized, and the World of WarCraft picture is something I am quite proud of. I think its the best looking of the five myself. Yuffie was a lot of fun to draw... However, her Super Shuriken was not. I spent (are you ready for this?) nearly four hours on just that damn thing, and probably drew it a dozen times. Geometry = failure! Lost Echo was fun, since it has been years since I've drawn Kim and Vayx and I really like them. Celna looks more angry than usual this time around...
